Architecture and design between the two World Wars – The Bauhaus and the Art-Deco (3 hours, can be taken in one or two parts)

The lecture will examine the currents and influences that evolved into the “International Style” in architecture, and how it has been realized in Europe and the United States. The lecture will also discuss the developments in decorative design between the Wars in the fields of fashion, daily consumed products, and especially furniture, and will examine the differences between European countries and the United States.
