A close look at some of the “vanity” items carried in women’s purses in the first half of the 20th Century, such as: powder, make-up and lipstick cases, cigarette cases, lighters, mouthpieces and more. All these items were made in a vast range of qualities, by a vast range of designers from the haute couture designers to the cheapest mass productions. The lecture is digitally illustrated, and includes authentic demonstration items.
